Nikolas Barber: Drumset, Percussion B.M. Jazz Studies Performance 2022 (In progress) 



Nikolas Barber hails from Vancouver, Washington and currently resides in Eugene, Oregon. In 2016, Barber received the Shape of Jazz to Come Award, as well as the Eli M. and Ruthe Nadel scholarship from the Stanford Jazz Workshop in Palo Alto, California. Barber currently attends University of Oregon as a Jazz Studies major, and has played in Oregon’s top college big band, The Oregon Jazz Ensemble. Nik has been in one of the top Jazz Combos for the past three years as well. Additionally, he is part of the Indie Rock Band “Laundry,” which has amassed over 500,000 plays on Spotify, and is one of the top gigging bands in the Eugene music scene. While keeping a consistent performing schedule, Nik has taught students of all ages, since 2015. 


Teaching Philosophy: 

Nik’s teaching philosophy is to inspire drummers to develop a passion for music of all kinds, and to be confident in any musical situation. Lessons with Nik can cater to a variety of drumming and general music topics covering:
