Kevin Miller: B.M. Jazz Studies Performance/Music Education
Kevin Miller is a dedicated and focused teacher who finds joy, purpose, and fulfillment in helping people make progress along their musical journey. In the lesson setting, it his utmost priority to develop a dialogue with the student that allows them to reach their musical goals, as well as feel that they have a teacher that can be treated as a friend and open source at all times.
Kevin has over ten years of professional experience as a music teacher, performer, and music theory author. He has taught ages ranging from four years old to over eighty years of age.
In 2020, Kevin received a dual degree in Jazz Guitar Performance and Music Education at one of the premier music schools in the nation, The New School for Jazz. In the fall of 2021, Kevin will have his first music theory book, Outside Sounds and Substitutions for Modern Jazz Guitar, published with Mel Bay.
Kevin has experience playing with world class musicians such as Rodney Jones, Buster Williams, Dickey Betts, Gregg Allman, and Matthew Shipp. It is his hope to translate some of the immense wisdom he h+s received from these people to his own students.
